ARTS EDUCATION
In its first season, The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage will offer master classes, workshops, a residency, a lecture demonstration and open rehearsals. Family concerts will include audience interaction with performers – drumming for example – or will have a fun educational concept such as celebrating a landmark birthday.
The Broad Stage will also offer special educator events rich in content for teachers, arts educators, scholars, administrators, and communicators. The audience will experience music, history, oratory, drama and contemporary issues and gain new insights into the educational value of the performing arts.
Free invitation-only events, bussed-in student outreach, Santa Monica College campus activities, and special public performances will explore a high quality approach to arts education.
Internationally renowned artists, as well as prominent Los Angeles-based performing arts organizations and performers will engage with educators and students of every description while opening the doors of a new cultural institution and sharing its potential for life-long learning.
